Dan & Rachel
August 3, 2012

Engaged, married, they’ve already been through the whole process. Rachel is a good friend of mine (Kezia here) and after getting married last November, her husband swept her away to Sarnia, Onatrio. I had the pleasure of visiting her there this summer on my way to Iceland and so of course I had to take more pictures of the two of them, now married.

I didn’t have a lot of gear that I wish I did since I was keeping it to a minimum for my big backpacking trip around Iceland. What I missed most of all was definitely my 70-200mm lens, but I made do with what I had and here are some of the shots I got…

Joyce & Monty: July 14, 2012
July 14, 2012

It was about a year ago that I (Kezia) took Joyce and Monty’s engagement photos and on Saturday July 14, I had the honor of photographing their wedding.

The morning was beautiful when I headed out. After getting ready, everyone proceeded to the Celebration Pavilion at Queen Elizabeth Park for the ceremony. It was short and sweet. After many hugs and congratulations we wandered throughout the magnificent gardens taking photos. Following that, we drove over to Ambleside Park for more photos. As the afternoon wore on, the intensity of the sun grew and it became uncomfortably hot. We all made it through the afternoon without melting and made our way over to Centennial Lodge at the New West Rose Garden. An evening of memories and celebration ensued.

Taryna & Emile: April 20, 2012
April 28, 2012

It was a beautiful blue bird morning when Taryna and Emile arrived at Hycroft in Vancouver B.C. The day couldn’t have turned out better and as guests started to arrive at the enchanted venue, things began to feel more and more like a fairy tale. After a touching ceremony ending with more hugs than there were people we took the lovely bride and groom outside for their couples portraits. With new love in the air Taryna and Emile could not stop smiling, which made our job that much easier. Soon after, we headed back inside where guests awaited the head table’s grand entrance into the elegant and classy ballroom. After old stories and touching moments that were shared over great food and cupcakes, the newly weds headed off to the start of their new beginning together.

Thanks so much Taryna and Emile for choosing us to capture your special day!! It was an honor to be a part of the inception of your new life together.

I don’t think Emile’s smile could have been any bigger!

Poor Emile is completely unsuspecting as Taryna plots her attack!

Shout out to Rachel A. Clingen for doing an amazing job with the florals and decorating/designing! Everything looked spectacular!

Karolina & Mervyn: Engagement
April 22, 2012

I tend to not believe couples anymore when they say they are not photogenic and don’t take good photos. That’s what Karolina said and I’m sure you’ll see that is not true! It’s all about having fun and just being yourself!

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon when we met up with Mervyn and Karlolina in Steveston, Richmond for their engagement photo shoot. The weather had been all over the map throughout the week with the weather reports constantly changing so we weren’t sure what to expect. Thankfully, we were blessed with amazing weather and a stunning sky! We started things off in the boat yard and worked our way along the river path as the sun set into sweeping oranges and blues. Mervyn and Karolina were a fun couple to photograph with good chemistry, always looking to make the moment a memorable one.

This is their story:

One day Karolina was walking into church and saw this handsome guy sitting one row behind hers. She was immediately curious about him and he her. He left for England about two weeks later with the promise of getting to know each other better through the distance. Fast forward 3 years later, after many emails, texts, Skype dates and phone calls; on a trip Karolina took to England, Mervyn proposed on the London eye and Karolina through tears of happiness said yes!!!
