Minter Gardens Wedding: Andrew & Sam October 12, 2013
Andrew has been a long time friend of mine and I was honored when he asked if I would photograph his and Sam’s wedding. I have to be honest, it was also a little intimidating being that in the past years I have been Andrew’s photo assistant at weddings, and not to mention the guy has photographed over a hundred weddings himself. Putting that aside, I was more than happy to switch roles from the past and capture their special day.
The morning started with Kezia joining the girls to take some getting ready photos of their hair and makeup being done at The Loft in Abbotsford. I continued on to meet up with the boys in Harrison Hot Springs for a nice morning dip. It’s not every wedding that I get to relax with the groom and his friend the morning before the wedding, but being that Andrew is a long-time good friend, it made for a great start to the morning. After the guys got ready and donned their custom wooden canes and pocket watches we headed over to Minter Gardens in Chilliwack, where the ceremony was being held.
With the weather report calling for rainfall warnings of over 50mm of rain, umbrellas were a must as the guests made their way up to the ceremony tent. The ceremony was short and sweet, and fall themed with details and decorations. After the ceremony, we took the the newly weds and their bridal party around the garden doing our best to find any undercover spots available. Shortly after we joined Sam and Andrew at the Hazelnut Orchard for more photos and they came prepared, gumboots and all.
The reception was held at the gardens and it was clear that Sam had done a great job pulling together lots of details with the fall theme. Speeches were held, great food was enjoyed, and games, dancing, and the bouquet and garter toss helped bring the beautiful day to a close.

Thanks so much Andrew and Sam for letting us be a part of your special day! I wish you two all the best in your future and travels together.
